The Forest Grove Community Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church, USA, located in Robinson Township (outside of Pittsburgh, PA). We are a small, warm community of faith with Sunday morning worship at 10:00 am.
Adults participate in educational and formational gatherings throughout the year. Our Children participate in the worship of the congregation (lighting and extinguishing candles as well as helping the pastor during the service) and are offered the opportunity during the sermon time for a "one room" Sunday school learning experience. They are always a welcome and lively addition to fellowship activities and special services!
The congregation often gathers for special services to focus our attention on the movement of the church calendar: Christmas Eve Candlelight, Carols and Communion; Ash Wednesday; Holy Week and Pentecost. In addition, we have several Taize services of sung prayer throughout the year. Like our Sunday morning services, these worship opportunities offer an experience of the living God in our midst.
Members of the congregation, family, and friends often join for fellowship and refreshment after worship and have many shared meals and other opportunities for fellowship during the the year.
We have recently constructed a 65 foot labyrinth on the grounds of the church as the focus of a prayer garden - a place of prayer for the community. While a labyrinth may look like a maze with rings or circuits, it is actually a winding path that, once begun can only lead to the center. Labyrinths were once placed in Cathedrals in Europe to provide worshippers with a safer alternative to making pilgrimage. ***From Route 60 turn onto Beaver Grade Road (at the BP Station)
***AT first Stop sign, turn right onto Silver Lane.
***Stay on Silver Lane till it ends at Forest Grove Road. (You will pass through 2 stop signs and then a traffic light at Clever Road)
***Turn left on Forest Grove Road. Wiliam Drive is the third street on the left.
***Turn left onto William Drive.
***The church is on right at the first stop sign.
